Dating sucks in Japan

Japan is a culture of busy bodies, I think. Everybody is in a rush to go somewhere. Advanced booking is generally a must. It is very common to schedule a meeting with your friends a month in advance.   In Mongolia, it is unheard of to schedule a hangout. Usually, I would call up my friend and ask if they would like to go out or have coffee. It is very common to go over to my friend's place to hang out. Impromptu is everywhere.   So, because we are living in a scheduled society, dating sucks in Japan. Recently, a friend of mine recommended I open a Bumble account. I was hesitant at first because I had been catfished through a similar application. But I am giving it a try.   It is very weird to schedule a date a month in advance. Ok it is okay to schedule a date in a week or two, but a month advance feels weird. Also, I still feel hesitant to meet up because I am IMAGINING everything to go bad. My mind is saying prepare for the worst.   Then I remember Brené Brown’s TE...

2024.10.02: Day 4

I walked 5 minutes faster than yesterday. I wrote the previous sentence with a huge smile.

I have noticed that my thoughts are walking faster than what my foot allows. For example: I think I can walk fast like people who walked past me, but that doesn't happen. That is one thing that I have noticed every time I leave my home in the morning. Well, eventually I will get there.

The swelling is down little by little. It will be a few more weeks before it goes down completely.

I almost sat my legs crossed. Of course, I couldn't be rough with my foot.

On the topic of my weight, I think it is going down. The reason why I use "think" is this. When I step on the scale and don't see any dramatic decrease, my mind starts saying "What is the point?" So, I have completely stopped weighing myself. Of course, I will do it at the end of the week which is Monday (my day off since I work on Saturday) for me.

Also, I measure my blood glucose here and there. The last one I took was a couple of days ago right before going to bed was 6.2 mmol/L (118mg/dL). Mine was within the normal range which is very good given my family history.

Hopefully, I will walk a little bit faster than yesterday. However, it rained and I have to be extra careful today.
